Horrible results on cardio stress test

I got my chest shaved.

I had a low blood pressure.

Then I got on the treadmill and it jacked way way up, aftewards they put me straight to the table, no cool down and it stayed way jacked up, like I was the trophy holder.

So the good news is my heart is a rock, but the rest of my cardio system is in the crapper.

The last 2 years have been very stressful and working 2 full time jobs now with a demanding 3 year old does not help.

I need to get off my arse and *do something* I just dont do enough cardio.

Comments and critiques welcome.

Unlike last summers mountain biking and sprinting fiesta, I have only been doing limited cardio.

Going to start 30 mins per day, had 2 skip yesterday since I have 2 interviews today. But tues I did run 30 and later rollerbladed 30.

Going to try 5 times a week. I lift weights nearly every day but sometimes its quite brief, this morning was 4 hip/leg machine hack squats and I had to go.

Your cardio look great man, I feel you have a lil too much on your plate though, don't be too hard on yourself. Maybe you ought to pace yourself.

I have 3 fulltime jobs:

1 - paycheck job
2 - freelance moonlighting ( literaly up at 2:30 am each day )
3 - finding a better #1 job

This Blood Pressure thing is so weird. I was 140/90 at the office, then buddy gave me his BP arm test like we all get at the doctor. So to test it out I take ephedrine. 1 hour later I pull over and test and am 122/66. It continues to drop all night. I then wake up and its 149/90!!

Then I hit doctor for flonaise today ( allergies in august ) and she measures 100/60!!!

She even tells me - Perfect!

Then she says my arms require the big measuring band not the small one and that the small one will report higher levels.

Still not escaping the cardologists treadmill report of 225 when getting off the treadmill. Said something about that being the highest ever - ouch.

so up and down all the time.

I would say you have four full time jobs. You said you had a 3 year old right? Yeah, really have to be careful to not stress your self out. I really do think it is stress, but I really don't feel it is a bad thing that your bp drops...now if it were at a steady 140/90 yeah then you need to worry but I really do feel stress is causing the rise and fall.

BP readings can flucuate if they aren't taken in controlled conditions. Cuff size can definitely affect the reading if it's too small (or too big) for the arm. But if your arm was the right size for the smaller cuff...?

The biggest inconsistancy is the expertise of the person taking the BP. I've seen doctors and a lot of nurses get it all wrong. It's impossible to tell if someone is taking it right unless you know how to take it yourself. But, insist that at least it's a true resting BP ie: you should be lying down/seated motionless for a full 5 min before taking it.

2Scoops mentions some good points....

The medical staff should have prescribed an exercise protocal with your stress test results in mind.(or referred to someone who could).

Did they?

I went to the airpark with my daughter this morning, 1 mile over is a runway community. We never found the hot air balloon we were chasing but the kid in the van was there cuz he was supposed to pick them up and was told they were way east out of his range so he was looking for a sky diver they did not pick up.

I took her to the ramp and she climbed onto aircraft wings and watched planes take off. One guy was ths sh$t he had a open door new taildragger, wearing shorts in the summer breeze. Turned out a gal in a yellow taildragger was the pilot so I told my blonde kid to look at the blond female pilot - you too can fly one.

We TOTALLY chilled out then went to the pool and chilled some more. Welp back to work, just got another side gig for 60 hours of work and need to make a decision on wether to take job working for neighbor, same money but 90 minutes less driving each day.

Arbit - its been under 8 hours for too long, need to get back to that.

...slowly...more sleep should be on the program...

Doctors don't know ANYTHING about exercise programs, or dieting specifically for cutting fat or weightlifting. Unless you go to a relatively young doctor that is into fitness, I would take what that doc says witha grain of salt.

That has been my experience anyway. They are more concerned with people being skinny and have no muscle (thats what they call healthy) instead of being 225 @ 8% bf.

I have 205 lbs of lean mass, that has what my readings have been consistenltly for quite awhile now, and i asked my doctor what weight I should be down to...lol mind you I am 6'3.

She says to me, "You should be down to 165 lbs". I laughed for about 5 minutes, and then told her she was out of her mind. LOL
