Question

How fast can you lose body fat??

I know you can lose like 10-20lbs in a month, or what have you...but what about body fat??

Ever heard of anyone losing 10-20% body fat in a month??

about 1% a month is a safe and realistic goal of how much body fat you can loose per month

10-20lbs in a month is ALOT!!! wayy too much. 1-2lbs/week is a better rate to ensure you preserve muscle mass and end up crashing your metabolism!

I usually read that 2 lbs per week is very doable and healthy, 3 lbs is about as much as you want to try to lose per week, basically the max, so it works out to about 10 lbs a month if you are going at a 2.2-2.7lb rate per week if you want to lose 10 lbs a month. Losing 20 lbs a month cant be that healthy, and its probably not 20 lbs of fat you would be losing anyways.

I believe men can lose it easier than women, so expectations would probably need to be adjusted there.

Along with cursor said (I think), probably the more fat you have to lose on your body, the easier it will come off at first, until your fat resource depletes, and then your body doesnt want to give it up as easily anymore.

It varies from person to person but most people can safely lose up to 1% bodyfat a week. So if you weigh 150 lbs you can try to lose 1.5 lbs a week. That's ideal though, it's not gonna happen consistently every week.

No one loses 10-20% bodyfat a month without losing muscle along with it. Maybe if someone was 'pharmaceutically enhanced' and did EVERYTHING right they could lose 10% a month without losing muscle but I highly doubt it.

Don't forget that initially you will lose water weight, fast. After that, if you are following a good "diet" and exercise plan, you will be burning your fat right away!
