Ok so then if I just do cardio I may be skinnier but still flaby right?

No, not skinny and flabby. If you've lost a lot of bodyfat it may take a little while for your skin to retract, but that doesn't sound like your case. Ever see a flabby hardcore marathon runner or cyclist?

Don't get me wrong, I agree with the others. Do your weights and don't slack on the amount of lbs you lift. You may be surprised at how much effort you can put into a workout before kickstarting a change.

If you don't want to invest in more weights or a gym, try bodyweight exercises or a circuit of bodywieght calesthentic-type exercises and aerobics. I'll bet you could incorporate the rope jumping nicely into that.

Good for you for continuing with jumping rope. It is one activity that never sat well with me as an adult (I loved it as a kid). I get sore only in the lower back from it.
