How sore is too sore?

I worked my legs on Monday - pretty intense workout (I can post specifics if need be) and my legs still feel pretty sore today. Even though I pushed pretty hard, I didn't get to failure with all of my exercises and I felt good about the workout. My husband thinks I may have done too much and he's concerned. I'm not worried about it (especially given that I'm not doing legs again until Monday), but was curious about what all of you deem "too sore"?

I don't mind hobbling up and down the stairs, and grimacing whenever I sit down because my legs are sore from training. I kinda like that feeling.

What's too sore for me is when I absolutely can not function (i.e. walk). The only part of my body that's ever been so sore I couldn't do my daily routine is the calf muscles. Gotta be careful with that and the neck but I can get by with the DOMS from my workouts and I train pretty hard.

Though DOMS isn't just from how hard you train, when you do something drastically different is when it really gets you.

For legs, too sore is when it hurts to bad to go for a pee without wincing or complaining.

Actually if I'm this sore for a day, I just consider it a great workout. If I'm this sore for several days then I would say I overdid it.

Too sore, for me, is when everyday activities (walking, light jogging) are painful. Not just uncomfortable, but painful!
