Injured pelvic ligament?

Hi
9 days ago I began a weight lifting program, and did some intense lunges. I did it twice in 1 week, but then 4 days AFTER not doing any weight lifting, one morning I felt a pain. I will try to describe just where it is. It feel like it is just INSIDE the bikini line area, along that line. Not in the thigh. I went to get it checked out and was told it was probably a strained ligament or muscle. Are there ligaments and/or muscle just where my pain is? I hope it is not some kind of growth, but the doc said she did not feel any lump. I just didn't know there was a ligament or muscle in that very area. I thought the ligaments were elsewhere, but I guess it could be a muscle. I guess I'll keep monitoring it. She said it'll go away within 3 weeks. In the meantime, she said I could do upper body weights while seated, but no running
She said I can swim and do stationary bike- please, other suggestions for cardio while this is healing?
Thanks!

The recumbant bicycle, if you have access to one, should be great while you are healing. You can use a pair of small dumbells while sitting on bicycle and engage in a variety of pumping motions. Surf the web for heavyhands workouts and get some ideas.

Go easy and let the healing happen. You've got a lifetime to play cardio catch-up.
