Injured Pronator Tres

At some time about a month ago, my Pronator Tres started to really hurt me. I think it may been from doing reverse curls (palms down) or improper curls. I didn't feel a 'sudden' pain during the exercise, but sometime later.

How long does an arm injury such as this take to heal? I know that I use those muscles just during everyday living, but I also use them when I am lifting. I.E. After about 4 sets of bench pressing, it starts screaming at me.

Would taking an anti-inflamatory before my workout be a bad thing to do? Someone told me to take some glutamine with my post workout whey-protine shake.

I have been doing 300mg of nor-andro (pre-workout) since the injury to help recovery, but I don't think that is helping out with this one.

Any suggestions? I really don't want to be down for 6 months to let nature fix it. That would be too counter productive to what I have been doing.

Thanks

Hi,
First of all, it is not going to take 6 months, but if you have tore anything in your arm, there is nothing that going to heal it better than rest, maybe a couple of weeks at least it the only way, to speed up your body make sure you take a good amount of protein to aid recovery. Also you say you have hurt it... now you may have sprained/tore the muscle etc ... or however you might have trapped a nerve which would cause regular pain, I had this problem it is called Pronator Teres Syndrome, it you occur in the forearm directly where the muscle is, or at the side under the elbow and is extremely painful. If you suspect this, see a docter.

PTS Info

Not much but a start.

If it is not a trapped nerve your just going to need to rest it straight off no excuses.
