Injury

Not sure if I should post this question here but I have started back up exercising again for over 5 months now. I noticed a pain in my lower leg and kept on exercising since it did not bother me to much the pain moved to my knee and my knee has been swollen. The knee feels weak. I have stopped exercising for a week and went to the Dr. The Dr. is not sure what it is, she took blood from me and gave me some viox. Anyone experience anything like this and what advice can you give me. It is driving me crazy not to be working out. Should I continue if it is a little better or should I wait a while longer?

Thanks
Denise

You should wait until it's a LOT better, not just a little - don't want to break it down again while it's on the mend... lower leg sounds like shin splints if you were running / jogging, your knee's take a hell of a hammering with those exercises too...your problem now to me sounds catilage related, I would advise you pop down to your local health store and buy some glucosamine and chondroitin and see how that works for you, mean while don't do any high impact sports that will aggrievate your knees.

As Lee said wait until the injury has fully recovered. Supplements such as glucosamine, chondroitin and MDM will help alleviate connective tissue/ joint pain and also repair the tissues. You may wish to make an appointment with a physiotherapist as they will know more about recreational/ sports injuries than doctors.
