Thumbs up

It's been 5 weeks...

And I have been 100% faithful to my workout program. The reason I started working out 5 weeks ago is because I enrolled myself in a PE class at my college that requires 5 hours of exercise per week that must include the 3 main components. Cardio, Strength Training and stretching. I am required to keep a log of everything that I do. I originally signed up just because I needed the credits but then I realized that we had to take a Pre-Test for endurance (Vo2) Push ups, sit ups and sit and reach. I'm too embarassed to say what I scored but all I will say is that it was considered poor by fitness standards...I was nearly in tears when I had to discuss this with my PE instructor. I have amazed myself and I can't believe that I have stuck with it this long...but I am so freaking determined to increase my scores on the Post test in 4 weeks.

I'm working on the diet....I don't want to go to extremes because that is when I start yo yoing. I haven't lost any actual weight but I have lost inches around the middle...my bf says it's a huge difference. I really want to go get the fat measurement done but I'm scared lol. Thank you guys so much for responding to my previous posts...I know sometimes I don't reply back but I have been coming here every day looking through old threads and learning more and more.

Congratulations on your progress gg. Sometimes just getting into the habit of exercising is the hardest part. And because you have been consistent in your workouts I'm sure that your scores will have improved dramatically. Keep up the good work!

Hey goodgirl - be proud of the fact that you have dedicated yourself to fitness. It's the first and most important step.

As for improving your test results, the best thing might be to mimic the actual tests you will be performing and incorporate them into your workout. For example, if one of the tests is 'X pushups in one minute,' do that test every other workout for the next month. You'll probably add a handful each week that way and give yourself yet another concrete goal.

As for diet, that is a tough nut to crack. After 2-3 years, it is still my Achilles heel. That one is all about will power. Don't despair and don't get down on yourself if you slip every once in a while. The occasional treat won't wreck your lifestyle if it is healthy overall.
