It's supposed to be bad this year. What's more, the shot only covers about 40% of the viruses out there this year.

This crap is nasty. I feel so weak I can hardly get up to go to the bathroom or get some water. I can deal with all of the cold symptoms, but its the high fever that kills ya.

Someone told me to tell you to try doing the Beast in under 15 minutes, to help get rid of the fever and diarreah(cha cha cha).

Reason: forgot to add diarreah

WTF is the "beast" !! I'm feeling a smidge better this morning with just a low grade fever, but I've already dropped like 5 lbs. I'll get it back quick, I just hate making steps forward and then have to step back.

For real. I was laying down yesterday shivering and sweating at the same time with a frozen bag of veggies on my forehead, thinking it wouldnt be so bad if I just died right now.

OMG! you dont know what the beast is....... its a crossfit day of exercise, it has a name lol I cant find the video for it , it was on youtube but it aint there no more. but heres how you do it in detail.
As many reps as possible in 20 minutes of the following:
Take a 95lb barbell
Deadlift
Hang Power Clean
Front Squat
Push Press
Lower behind the head widen your grip
Snatch Grip Push Press
Overhead Squat
Lower behind the head
Back Squat
Behind the Neck Push Press
Rack and
Reverse Deadlift to the floor.
That's ONE rep.
Glad youre getting better. My g/f's mom has it too, I was just over there... Hope I aint next...

yeah man i'm coming down with something (hope it doesn't turn out to be the flu) so i have been lifting intense as hell these past couple days with a sore throat in case i have to take time off lol... oprobably just going to make me sicker but hey what the hell. but if you feel weak that means your body is fighting off the infection, lifting weights will only make that internal stuggle more difficult and you'll be out longer. why not just do whats best for the quick recovery so you can actually do some quality lifting asap?
btw does the flu hit you right away or do you feel it coming with a sore throat and sniffles for a couple days before it kicks in hard?

Beware man, I had a sore throat by Saturday morning, went to work and felt rough, went home and was going to go out that night, but by then I was running a very low fever. Sunday, it was full blown flu.

lol well it happened... i barely slept at all last night. i was burning up like crazy... still am. hopefully the fever will pass in couple days. being sick sucks, especially when you're in the right mode for getting in shape and you're forced to take a step back. i really want to get back in the gym but i know its not really an option now.

I know exactly how ya feel bro. I just called into work again today, told them I needed another day, and they were like "stay home we dont want that crap". I was feeling pretty good last night but woke up this morning with a low-grade fever again. I dont think I've lost as much weight or muscle as I could have because I've been still trying to eat a lot and drink protein shakes so as to not go too catabolic.
Maurer, hope you feel better bro. Plan on being down between 3-5 days.

yeah well the crappy thing is i have no appetite... but i am still going to eat as much i possibly can. protein shakes are key. i think as long as you don't go too catabolic the majority of the weight we lose while sick is water... well i hope so cuz i can get that back in a few days of rehydration. and i skipped class today and i was supposed to do an oral presentation... i hope my teacher understands. anyway thanks, hope you feel better too.
