not exactly, because the moving belt helps reduce the impact. besides, the legs were evolved to take that kind of impact.

I think I will do both- mix it up some. It may be better anyway so the body is exposed to different types of movements/pressures cardio speaking. Isn't it good to kind of mix it up anyway so that your body does not get used to one certain movement?
