jump roping is fun

I love it, but sometimes my feet end up really sore/burning after jump roping. I can even feel it into the next day. I wonder if I'm doing something incorrectly but I didn't think there was a technique to jump roping. I hope I don't have to give it up

Make sure you are jump roping on a forgiveable surface, like a running track/gym mat/tennis court or something along those lines if you are doing it on concrete now so some of the impact can be absorbed by the ground.

It's a pretty difficult exercise, espeically for an adult with our bigger bodies. As you continue to do it, your body will adapt and it won't hurt as bad. It will certainly get you in condition. Ever wonder why fighters do so much rope jumping?

Haha I didn't know fighters did jump roping actually. I jump rope either on a driveway or a gym floor (hard wooden). It hasn't always bothered my feet this much but maybe as I increase time/intensity it's taking a toll on my feet. Maybe I need to alternate with different cardio.

Yeah, as difficult as it is, it's worth it. However, alternating with other cardio is a good idea. It does take a toll on the body. At least on mine it does.

Are your shoes ok? I would think you'd need good supportive shoes, just like for running.
