Jump Roping Questions

I just recently started jump roping.
I do it for 20 min most of the time going at a double jump rate. Although recently I have been TRYING double jump rate for 5min, single jump rate 10min, double for 5. I sometimes have to revert back to double because I'm so tired but I'm getting there. Is 20 min enough to make a difference in getting tone and losing fat?

anyways I can feel the burn in my calves. Will this exercise make them bigger? They are small right now. I am only 5ft so I have not skinny but proportioned calves to my body and I dont' wnat them to get bigger.

Also is is ok on the body/feet to jump rope at home on my carpet in my socks? I'm not jumping hard or high. I sometimes even kinda skip while i jump rope at times.

Thanks for any feedback!

Probably, see if you are making progress in 4 weeks then adjust accordingly

The size or shape is mostly genetic. You can't make the muscle larger without more resistance (more weight) so I doubt it from just jumping.

Whatever is best for you is fine.
