You did 100 jumping jacks, or you did 500 jumping jacks?

i guess it's good, but with fat-burning, it's the length of time you spend doing it that counts.

instead of going by the number of jumping jacks, do them for as long as you possibly can. recover by marching briskly in place for a few minutes, then do them again as long as you can. repeat for a total of four times.

the next time you do them, try to do jumping jacks for a longer period of time, but keep the marching to about the same length of time as before.

keep doing this until you get bored out of your skull and investigate other fat-burning activities like walking, marching, hiking, jogging, running, rock-climbing, swimming, biking, treadmill, elliptical trainer, stairclimber, etc.

Lots of people run that way. Usually it's more formatted, but either way works. People run marathons using the 10 and 1 method (10min running, 1 minute walking)

precisely :

just always try to push farther: go for a longer time, go for a longer distance, go faster, whatever. don't just pick something you're comfortable with and then sleepwalk your way through it cause you'll be back here asking us why you're not improving.

Yes. That's a good way to warm up your muscles and avoid injury. It's all personal on how much of a warmup you need.

Anything and everything is OK. What matters is that you're out doing something. Just make sure to push yourself so as to see more and more results.

For your calf try stretching it before and after you run. That may help.
