Jumping rope

I haven't included rope work in my training for a long time, but this recent article and accompanying video clip by Ross Enamait certainly makes me want to do some rope work.

Ross is the real deal. Scroll down and watch the youtube video of him smoking the rope. Absolutely amazing!

That's one of the most impressive things I've ever seen. Wow. Not only does that take amazing cardio but the coordination is unbelievable.

That was impressive. Rope training is one of the most heart rate increasing cardiovascular workouts you can do too. If you can jump rope like that, you are one hardcore conditioned person.

Suggestion, instead of a $3.00 cotton rope with wooden handles spring for a $9.00 speed rope that is heavier and has the ball bearing thingies in the plastic handles. For me, this prevents tripping over the rope quite as often.

I was feeling like there was no calf training at Crossfit until double unders came up on the skill training and WOD. That did the trick!

Jumping rope has it's place.

Hah, my favorite part is how he does that solely for conditioning, as part of a larger routine. Some people couldn't get that level of coordination if all they did was jump rope. Very impressive.
