jungle gym

Yesterday I received the jungle gym and yesterday evening and this morning I played a bit around with it, just to check what can be done. (that is why it is not included at my daily routine section yet). I discoverer more and more things; besides the normal pushups, dips, body rows and pull/ chin ups, you can do crescesnt pushups (more of a core workout), hold it for pistols, flyes and reverse flyes, curls (yip a bwe version by extending back wards and curl your arm so you stand almost straight) etc. It seems the sky is the limit.
Maybe that later on I will workout a bit more with it, instead of my resting day.

Are more people using this piece of equipment?

If you do a google I am sure you will find it online. (I am not sure if I can posts links were it is available). I bought mine from coach Rut (I follow his blog as he shows crossfit like workouts) as he was way cheaper in international shipping as opposed to most companies.

If I am allowed to post links I will post some links to this attribute.

Here is the link to the original company of the jungle gym. I did not buy it from them as I think 45 usd shipping rates is ridiculous.

Lifeline USA - Jungle Gym

Here is the link from where I bought it but I think it I the same:

LOL - somehow I was picturing some giant metal contraption in your basement. NOW I get it.

A useful tool, for sure. I pack something similar (resistance bands with a door attachment) when I go away on trips.

Hmmm... nylon cargo straps from Harbor freight are about $4 to $5. PVC tubing, $2.00. A couple pop rivots ... I think you could make this for about the price of shipping!!!

Agreed.

I also expected the Jungle Gym to be some sort of gigantic contraption with mulitiple stations.

I had thought of that first, but the webbing here in Europe was about 30 euro's. (i could get them a little cheaper but I would not thrust that one for hanging my bodyweight from, it would probably hold it). Secondly I have to sew the handles together instead of making a knob. And third the gesps to change length quickly are also quite expensive. It would not become much cheaper for me. I had first tried it with a rope but that did not work well.

Well and if you are getting a bit older you do not automatically connect gym to machines, I am to those who say my own body is my gym and I am no robot so no machine. I do not have space or room for giant machines, besides they bore me. But that is just personal. This is something I can also take with me on deployment.

Yesterday afternoon I did a small workout and I started to incorporate a bit in my small routine. I really like it. Pushups on this thing is harder than expected due to the stabilizing. And it is just fun eg 1 pushup followed by a fly.
