Leg day question.....

Should I do any cardio the day after a leg day, or should I just take the next day and rest?

When you're legs feel sore and stiff after a good leg work-out the previous day, people think a good days rest is the answer. But, I am currently looking into "productive overtraining" where after a "heavy" workout, the next day should be followed by a "light" workout for those muscle groups worked the previous day. This could incorporate light weights, or even using your own body mass (for resistance, high reps), and light cardio - this promotes increased blood flow to the sore/ stiff muscles, additional nutrients and oxygen flood the muscle fibres, and impurities are flushed away, thus accelerating recovery from a hard, heavy workout. In essence, I am training 5-6 days a week resistance alone, only it isproductive overtraining.
