Male sleep impaired by sleeping with a woman

According to Austrian scientists, by sharing a bed with a woman, men are temporarily impairing their brains. No matter whether the bedmates have had sex or not, the study claims that male sleep is disturbed when sleeping with a female. Also, the lack of "good" sleep increases men's stress hormone levels.
Women, on the other hand, do better because they sleep deeper. But they also suffered from disturbed rest to a lesser extent.
Eight unmarried, childless couples were asked to spend 10 nights sharing a bed and 10 nights sleeping apart. The scientists monitored their sleep patterns and were given cognitive tests and had their stress hormones checked.
Ironically, the men reported that they slept better when sharing a bed, but the tests proved otherwise. Dr. Neil Stanley, a University of Surrey sleep expert, was expecting the results.
"Historically, we have never been meant to sleep in the same bed as each other. It is a bizarre thing to do. Sleep is the most selfish thing you can do and it's vital for good physical and mental health. Sharing the bed space with someone who is making noises and who you have to fight with for the duvet is not sensible. If you are happy sleeping together that's great, but if not there is no shame in separate beds."

I truly adore my Husband, and I love spending quality time with him, in and out of bed, but if I were to be completely frank,....I hate sharing a bed. For one thing, I wake up every time he shifts or moves (never mind noises, I'm just talking normal sleep adjustments),....then I go rolling into his divets and pits because the center of the bed will pitch into his bodyweight, causing my body to be misaligned.

And that's not even figuring in stuff like draping or cuddling!

If I had my way, I'd put two twin beds together (so it would be LIKE sleeping together), but we'd each have our own separate mattress.

Out of curiosity, -- does anyone have either one of those air chamber mattresses (ie: a queen size will have two chambers, one on each side, separate),....or those Tempurpedic foam mattresses that supposedly do not transfer weight from your partner? I wondered if they worked and were thus were the hefty pricetag!
