more layers=more calories burned=fat loss?

I have a clean diet, good cardio (HIIT) and a decent lifting program. Im seeing the results I want but waiting for my last 15lb of stubborn fat to go in about 6-7 weeks.

I know sitting in a suana, steam room and jus sweating causes you to loose water weight which can be gained back if i drink it back.

questions:
1. Isnt our body 65-70% water?

2. If I wear a t-shirt and a hoody and long pants and do cardio, doesnt that mean when i work hard = more sweat = MORE CALORIES BURNED which eventually = MORE FAT LOSS??

no. water is 0 calories, so sweating has nothing to do with the calories you burn. you burn more calories in a cold climate anyways, because your body works harder to keep your temperature up.

Unfortunately it does not work like that. Many people equate heat/sweat with calories used. While a tough workout may make you sweat more and burn more calories, its not the fact that you sweat more that is directly affecting your caloric expenditure.

When you exercise in layers (especially if not outside in cold weather) you are not taxing your metabolic systems but your thermal regulation system. You are asking your body to keep cool in a very hot/humid environment. As a result, it responds by sweating more at a given work rate. In extreme cases this could cause heat stroke as you have directly interfered with the body’s ability to cool itself and it just shuts down.

Also, like Rats posted, you actual burn more calories in a cold environment.

On the other hand, if you wear 50 lbs of clothes, then you WILL burn more calories.

I was just hoping to put on a hoodie or a light sweatshirt or maybe even a full sleeve cotton shirt on top of a wife beater... NOTHING extreme like a down jacket.

I assumed since our body is 60% water anyway, that MAYBE wearing an extra will burn extra calories since It will burn use more water.......and since the body is more than 60% water, i assumed that the calories required to loose that water will require calories which in the end i ASSUMED more calories used IN THE LONG RUN of attaining my fat loss goal .

I jus thought it was as simple as more sweating=more calories expended which meant more fat loss.... but i appreciate everyones response here.

If you want to burn more calories when doing your cardio, dress comfortably and crank up your intensity. It's as simple as that!
