Hubby's 30th HS reunion
This weekend is mu hubby's 30th HS reunion. Last night we went to the football game and for beer and pizza after.
Believe me, if you are not convinced women should weight train you should have been there with me!
I am 45, so 3 yrs younger than these gals, but some of them look OLD.

Weight training ROCKS!
How many girls out there do you see that are cut? There are plenty that are naturally thin so it takes no effort on their part.. but it shows that you are disciplined and work hard if you have MUSCLES. And its great to be strong.. makes life so much easier!

xena, i think the whole naturally skinny thing goes with guys too. they think just cuz they have 6 packs they dont work for then they are in shape. im not trying to seem like i have sour grapes about it but its just really frustrating at times. i have a poochey belly and im damn poud of it.

Men who hate muscles on women are often, on some level, afraid of them.

Yeah. Pretty easy to guess the guy that said it is in pretty poor shape himself. It just astonishes me how many men appear to be intimidated by women who actually respect themselves enough to weight train, have an opinion and voice it etc etc.
I'm sick of wimpy guys! (sorry boys, im sure this doesnt include you tho )

I agree with you all. Nothing nicer than seeing a woman with a little muscle. I got hooked when Rachel McLish won Ms Olympia in 1980 (in fact I named my daughter Rachel). I've been lifting since then. I've overdone the cardio for years but finally got my exercise program in some "normalicy" about two years ago. I will weight train as long as I can! My husband also prefers looking at well toned women - he brags to everyone about my workouts.

Don't you think other women are intimdated by a gorgeous, muscular female physique as well? I have always admired women who had beautiful muscles, but never had a desire to fully emulate them. My goal is more to be strong and outlast anyone (I'd love to be on Survivor) else my age. But other women either act like I'm doing something insane, I'm going to look stupid with muscles or say dumb things to me like I'm harming myself. I admit my last cycle was weird... two weeks late and sporadic... very light. But I've taken measures to adjust my diet so I don't skip cycles. Is it fear, intimidation or just plain jealousy???
I watch these women at work wolf down bagels with heavy cream cheese, drink sodas all day and snack on chocolate. It doesn't make me envious, it makes me pity them. Truly.

Oh I think both men and women understand it, but guys have fear of the smallies, and women have fear of bulking, even if they know it's not true. I do gain muscle easily. And I'd rather do resistance training any day over cardio, but I do it anyway.
Just my $.02
