Mother of twins needs help getting back in shape

I have 10 month old twins. My pregnacy wrecked my body so BAD! I was in the hospital for a month on COMPLETE bed rest (couldn't even get up to go to the restroom!). My boys were delivered via c-section 5 weeks premature. As a result of being streched so much, so fast, and being cut open. My stomach is shot. I am strech marks from breasts to ankles. I have LOTS of loose skin around my mid section. I have started dieting and loosing some of the weight, but my abs are SOOOOOO weak that I don't even know where to begin. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Hi Kerrianne91-

Congrats on getting thru that!!! Just go basic and easy to get some core strength back.

Crunches
Twisting crunches

Go easy at first, work up to 25 of each. When you can do that without discomfort, increase to 2 sets of 25 of each exercise (work up to 25 on that 2nd set- it may not come immediately, but you WILL get there if you have a positive mindset) .

Once you can do that, add another exercise such as reverse crunches.

Just take it easy at first- work within your comfort level for a while before pushing yourself. Your strength will come back rapidly, so nuthin' to worry about!!!

Then just work from there- adding new exercises, or a few more sets. If you get stuck or need more advice, feel free to post back.

Oh yeah- welcome to DF.com!!!

Tuna~

Thanks for the advice! What exactly are reverse crunches? I know what crunches are and I think I know what twinsting cruches are (crunches with legs bent and twisted to the side?). I am really looking forward to getting my bod back, it's just so hard cause everytime I work that area I am in soooo much pain with the scar tissue breaking up. Right now I am only able to work that area a few days a week. I have to rest at least one day in between and sometimes more if I over do it. I know there is no fast fix and that taking it slow is better, it's just hard to remind yourself of that when you are working out... but then later you are like "oh man!" THanks again!

Should only really work anything twice a week tops anyway, even in top condition.
