Muscle Spasm

What is exactly is a muscle spasm?

Ive recently been getting one in my left shoulder and idk if i should be concerned. It just randomy twitches and i dont know what to make of it. It doesnt really hurt but im just curious...

What stimulates a spasm, why spasms happen and what if anything should you do to prevent them?

I get them in my right Quad all the time, sometimes it won't stop for over a day! So I'd be interested in knowing too. I also don't think its cause for concern it's just annoying!

It can be caused by a number of things. My eyelid twitches when i don't get enough sleep over the course of several days sometimes.

Try supplementing with some Taurine and or Potassium and see if that helps.

Most cases it's caused by a loss of blood supply to the area, but the blood that does get through gets saturated with more H2+ ions which normally help with the electric neutrality of the haemoglobin, which means more HCO3- causing a negative balance and therefore you get a twitch as this is compensated for....and yes there's a lot more reasons, but atheletes generally experiance that one.

but if it is a minor twitch that happens rarely why would i buy supplements just for that?

it happens once in a while and i just wanted to know if i should be concerned, assuming that it was bad...

you would buy supplements for it if you dont want it to happen no matter how small or large the problem is. As far as being concerned i dont think its a big deal but then again im not a doctor.
