I already R/O the pregnancy issue, and inquired about BCP to see if there were external hormonal influences. I think if she'd get to an endo she may find something revealing, and not she does not present with "cushingoid." Her bodytype is very revealing -- she's a carb-hound, starchy carbs being her favorite, and I know she thinks nothing of a glass or two of wine with dinner (on those one or two "parties" during the weekends). I believe she follows WW well during the week but I'm more inclinded to psynche up with gymrat's conclusion she's feeling entitled. She's often mentioned that "even if she DID eat "extra" that with all the work she's doing she SHOULD see SOME improvement." That, to me as a trainer is a red flag. That to me as a woman who battled being fat since I was old enough to walk and ran the gamut of eating disorders, as a nice and tidy way for her to seek solace and reaffirmation that given her high volume of training she should be able to cheat on her diet.

She doesn't cheat with bread and starches (as she used to), but she's failing to grasp that even eating "less than she did" if she's still eating more than her LBM needs, all she's doing is slowing down the rate at which her body will fat fat (which she is)...to t he tune of losing 0.5lbs per ever other week in the negative.

She's getting married this week, I won't see her until next week (3 sessions before her honeymoon).

She refuses to provide diet tracking (because with the wedding and all, she's keeping track of too many things as it is, she just doesn't have the time for this too)....that's why WW was easier, she just learned her point system.

She's got a standard carb body, pear shape, cellulite pockets with heavy distribution in the hips, buttocks and thighs, and this girl hates to push herself. She'd flash me the evil eye when we'd do one set of step ups and I raised the step platform by 2 plates because her heart rate after 20 steps per leg wasn't high enough. (She was angry).

She wants 90 minutes x 6 days (30 of those minutes un-observed intensity), and 1-2 days of those days unobserved.

But I'm still taking it personally when I see her on situations where she IS working really hard. She refuses to believe that with this much work that her diet would still need to be tight as a drum....she DOES feel all this exercise means she really "should" be able to eat more (evidently not).....because WW doesn't take into account someone working out as much as her.

Beyond my control now.

I feel for you. I think the entitlement attitude is one of the hardest things that we as trainers have to deal with. I have a little more sympathy towards it because I used to feel that way as well... I understand the reasoning and the rationale behind it.

I also empathize with having the client who doesn't like to be pushed. It's almost like people think that once they've hired a trainer, the work is done. We somehow do the work and they're just along for the ride. Unfortunately, it comes as a surprise that I only provide guidance and they are responsible for 23 additional hours during that day.

You've got the right attitude about it... you've done the best you can do and the rest is up to her.
