pain near tailbone?

Is it possible to hurt a muscle to cause a dull pain near the tailbone??
No impact or falling down, just exertion?

yes.

another thing that will cause a constant ache at or near the tailbone is tight hamstrings. try stretching out your hams, butt, and lower back - see if that helps.
