Not really. But for an old guy with MS and not much hair left...it's not bad. There were others in my age and weight class moving more weight but they were overestimating abilities and missing lifts so what I did manage to get was enough for first place.
I was really impressed by one guy who although he was 300+ and VERY LEAN lifted maybe a little under 2x his body weight with a 600lb deadlift...
I was most impressed by the girl who deadlifted nearly 3x her body weight. a 132 lb girl that lifted 360 lbs.
However there is one woman we know who is maybe 5'2 to 5'4" tall at 158lbs who beats my total by 30 or 40lbs each time...but she competed on pro day this time out...she's 36...completely impressing the hell out of me.
Our last meet (North Myrtle Beach Classic) on May 5th I got first in 179lb men's masters (that means old guys btw...I'm 43) with a total of only 875. Mrs.V. placed first in her class with a total of 615 (140lb women's masters). and Froggiegirl (for those who remember her...our 16 year old daughter...the one who used to be the 9 year old girl who loved powerlifting) took first in teen women's deadlift with a 195lb deadlift. She's not really into lifting like she used to be because now it's all school, work, and sports...so that means crossfit with her teams (which means sucky form and less results than she gets at home...but oh well)...but it was a free trip to the beach and an excused week off from school (educational trip and competing as an athlete actually works for that).
