Pulled or Pinched?

hey guys,
i have had this pain in my glutes for a while.. and just yesterday i got up to take a shower, and tried to get into it, and all of a sudden it locked up on me and it hurt to move it. it took me 15 minutes to walk 10 steps back to my bed. my mother ( who is an ex-nurse, but doesnt know what she is talking about some times) thought that it was a pinched nerve. The workouts i have been doing with it are just generally isometrics such as running, squats with little resistance (i.e. 100 pounds max). one day it just started hurting a little bit, and day by day it would get worse even if i didnt do anything. so what do you guys think this is, a pulled muscle or pinched nerve?

Sounds like its the main nerve that runs down your butt. Its called something like 'striatic nerve' (?) and it can get pinched or inflamed sometimes. I had it happen several months ago and it hurt to move when I was sleeping too.
