Running first thing in the morning

Hey i understand that running first thing in the morning on a empty stomach is good because it burns the most amount of fat. I did the exact thing this morning and i was so tired. The course had hills and some down hills and flat areas but i was so tired. I went for 30 minutes. When i got to the 20th minute i started to go not as fast but my heart rate was still pumping like crazy.

Should i keep on doing the same course and try and improve each time, or should i perpaps eat a small meal eg a small breakfast 1 hr before?

I was thinking to do the same course and keep on doing it and try and improve my time. I do it 3 times a week. What do you guys think?

thanks :-)

Actually running on an empty stomach is not good especially in the morning... get lots of carbs before you run, not just a small breakfast.... the reason you were so tired is because you had no energy and nothing to use for it. If you were to eat after this you would probably gain wait because your body would think it was starving and literarily store fat.

Well, i think it shouldn't be a problem running with an empty stomach cause you'll use your fats for energy, so in that way you'll burn your fats faster.

And i think you felt tired cause of the lack of stamina. You should start at a slow pace and then gradually increase. It takes time to build a good stamina.

Eat clean food.

I agree with Mr Khan, it takes time to get good stamina, and it was probably the stamina issue, but of course I'm not totally sure of it. In order to know, I would have to know more, like did you just start running very recently? If so, it's probably lack of stamina. Running in the morning is best, however, I feel that to prevent muscle breakdown, you should consume a serving of whey protein 20-30 minutes before you run in the morning.

Absolutely run on the empty stomach. Your body will not think it is starving. When you run on an empty stomach you put your body into fat burning mode for hours. In fact I would try not to eat directly after either. I mean if your schedual doesn't allow this, or you feel like you're going to pass out, you should probably eat.

wait so are you actually encouraging running when you're hungry? So afterwards should you eat cause i dont know about you but i would pass out after doing my runs especially if i had no food prior to the run.
