running on empty

hay people. i was planning on getting up today at 10am but i actually woke up at 8:45am. I also was planning on going for a run at 10:30 on an empty stomach because apparently this is the best way to speed to the motabolism for the rest of the day. I would like to know wether i should just stay hungry then eat after the run or should i get a quick snack like a protein shake or something?
thanks for viewing

I think the goal is to be running with no food (the calories from food) in you...which people say will help burn more fat. I used to go running, get in and take a shower, then eat some food.

Definitely need to eat a little something before. Nothing big, granola bar, piece of fruit, personally I drink a Slim-Fast. This will help get your metabolism going because you are giving your internal processes something to do and a little bit of fuel.

Also, if you are running @ 10:30am, let's say you ate dinner at 8pm the night before, that's 14.5 hours without any fuel for your body. Now contrary to popular belief that doesn't mean you are burning fat. Actually your body doesn't know when it will eat again, so it will go into a survival mode. First thing to go, unnecessary muscle mass. Fat is the last to go, because it serves as a long term energy source, insulation, and protection for your organs. Don't really need to tell you that you don't want to burn off your muscle. Why do you think marathon runners have the look they do, they only keep the muscle they need.

My run this morning was SACKED by my parents inviting me to Italian dinner last night. So I'm gonna wait for the sun to cool off and go running tonight. I'll eat at 4ish and then run at 8ish. Anyone wanna give me a pep talk? (I'm needing a little push today)

My run this morning was sacked because of rain. Like you, I will be doing mine this evening as long as it's not raining. I give myself a little push every morning at 5:25, when my alarm goes off. I do interval training (walk/run) and have never been a big cardio fan. However, I love what it does for my health and the fat that I'm losing. Once I get myself out on the road, I'm not going to stop or cut it short. Just keep telling yourself that you're a runner. Eventually, you'll believe it all the way down.
