Use the treadmill, elyptical, stair climber, etc. Simple as that.

I converted my static bike seat to the same as my road bike and its alot better and not hard to do.
I did try using a small cushion and it did help some

Try lifting your bottom every once in awhile. This helps a bit. It's like when people's feet fall asleep on the elliptical. If it's in the same position for too long it will start to get sore.

See if you can get a more comfortable seat from your local bike shop (LBS). If it will fit, that may be the answer. Better yet, buy a good road bike and get out on the road for real!

Have you tried wearing biking shorts? The padding makes a lot of difference. If the spandex is a problem just wear some long gym shorts over them.

Try using a "gel seat". You can purchase at any target or sport store. It slips on to the existing seat. ...... helps a lot.

Yep there it is.

Even seasoned triathletes and cyclists who spend all training season upgrading saddles and finally get the perfect one by the end of season...wonder what went wrong in the "off time", because it's not right anymore and they are getting sore butts.

It's simple conditioning. When I first started cycling I couldn't sit after a 1 mile ride. By may a 25 mile ride was no big deal to the backside.

I haven't ridden much since May and when I do get back on the bike, I know it's gonna hurt.

Just keep going and get conditioned to it and you'll be fine.
