Soreness - Not going away rapidly

I have soreness in my triceps that wont go away. It is like the pains you get when you first start working out. Ive been lifting for 3 months and I can barely move my arms due to the pain. Is this a diet related thing? I have not been drinking a post workout shake because I don't know what to buy. I dont want to make my own. Is there something I can do differently?

Do you have pain anywhere else? What does your routine look like? Does anything you do during or post workout relieve the pain? Does the pain respond to otc drugs, heat, ice? Have you tried any of these things? What is your age? How often do you perform your routine. Any significant prior medical history? (to hell with hippa)
Ther are a number of good quality mrp's and protein powders available at any reputable supplement store and some health food centers. You can buy them pre-mixed and ready to drink (way expensive) or make your own with just a powder. Making your own is far less expensive and the shake can be "tweaked" any # of ways depending upon your tastes fitness goals. You will also find gazillions of choices online and there are several reputable companies to choose from there also.

I lift once a week.

All sets 10 reps with dumbells
Bench - 1 sets x 15lb, 3x35lbs
upright db rows (Bench inclined)- 1 sets x 15 lbs, 3 x 25lbs
Skull crushers (2 hands) - 4 sets x 25 lbs
Squats - 3 sets - no weight

Age 33.

My chest is a little sore but no where as bad as my triceps. I can barely lift may arms above my shoulder height. No significant health problems except high cholesterol and triglycerides. I thinnk I am goign to ask my doctor for Lipitor for that.

I have not taken anything for the pain. I try and stretch but it hurts bad.

As for the protein shakes, any good basic recipes that dont use yogurt or cottage cheese?

well, my idea would have been stretching... but if it hurts as bad as you say it does, i don't think you should.

exactly how long has it been since the pain begun?

Ok, with the possible exception that you are only working your tri's once a week, I see nothing in your program that should (under normal circumstances) cause this amount of pain. Assuming you are perfoming the sets with anywhere near proper form, the excercise itself should not be causing this. As for what it is, there are several causes that produce symptoms such as you describe. I would suggest a thorough physical exam by your physician to include complete bloodwork. Always rule out the possible physical causes 1st, then move on to other culprits. In the meantime, try a heating pad, heat paks, or even icy/hot type rub, along with 4-800mg ibuprofin.
As far as the shakes, there are dozens of different ways to make them. Get yourself some Optimum Nutrition protein powder. Start with the 2 gal tub initially to see if you like it. Put 1 1/2 scoops into a blender with 1 cup skim or 1% milk, add 1 tbs of peanut butter (preferably natural), 1/2 banana, and 4-5 ice cubes. blend for about 30-45 secs. Try that and see how you like it.

I dont mean 4 pills at 800mg/each. just 400-800mg total ibuprofin.
