Sprinting


Hi i was wondering what would be the best thing do to increase my speed in sprinting. Like what muscles to train and what exercises to perform so i can last longer. thanks

Hamstring and claf exercises are good for increasing leg strength for running. Check out this post for tips on getting better at the mechanics of running.

Whatever you do work your entire leg muscle system. Otherwise you will unbalance the stregnth in your hamstrings or quads and that will invite injury and I do speak from experiance i have pulled my quad twice running track in highschool

Resistance training and plyometrics will almost certainly help but don't forget include sprinting itself in your training program!

If you can, get in touch with a good speed coach who can incorporate a bit of SAQ
