Your doc may prescribe Retin-A. You may have success with laser resurfacing or dermabrasion. If the stretch marks are fresh, vitamin E may help. Cocoa butter is to PREVENT stretch marks.... example, while you're pregnant to rub your belly, before and during,...not just after as a repair method. It's a maintenance program.

A lot of treatments are to merely keep the skin supple so it won't fissure.

The best way to help prevent them in the future is to avoid rapid weight gain or rapid weight loss.

Tanning will make them show up worse, and that, will never change.

as far as I know, laser is the only treatment that really brings good results...

Stretch marks come from the area under the skin going faster than the skin itself. Lifting weights, getting fat, breast developement (in women), and pregnancy (in women) are all causes of stretch marks. Personally I don't get what the big deal is as long as they are from muscle growth, getting fat they can be icky, but if they're old and fading, its not a big deal, breast developement and pregnancy are no big deal either. Still, I think steve is right, lazer is the best way. I wonder if even that would work on mine though because they are like massive crevices in my skin, at least the ones that go from my upper arm to upper chest, not that I care anway.
