I always stretch before I run (which is usually 2 or 3 times a week, late afternoon, for about 3 miles), but never afterwards and recently I've started waking up in the morning with a muscle pull from holy hell and it kills like a sob. So I'm wondering, should I stretch afterwards too? I think I've heard here and there that it's good to stretch after a work-out, I've just never done it before.
And if I'm supposed to stretch, should I do anything different than I would before a run?

Hi and wlecome to the site mate.....yes you should most deffinitly stretch before and after your run. You dont have to do anything much difference, maybe hold it for a couple more seconds than you did whilst stretching before just to make double sure you have warmed down sufficiently....should solve your pulled muscle problem too
Never strech before you run! Your muscles are too cold. You are supposed to warm up by bouncing around. Stretching is for after the run. There is less chance to pull or rip a muscle when they are warm. I think you should rest untill healed.

I was under the impression, and basically been told by everyone I've ever come in contact with, to stretch before a run.
