So...I just started working out again after 8 years of going without, and I've been trying to just tone back up the body again and get rid of the flab around the middle before my 10 year high school reunion (I gotta look good, as I was the fat kid that people made fun of and I'm tired of being fat!) coming up in a year and a half...
Anyway, to get to my point...I'm trying to remember some of the basic stretching exercises to do so that I don't end up pulling something and really killing myself...
I currently do a quadricep stretch (pull your leg back and stand one one leg while pulling the toe back towards your butt), calf stretch (palms flat against the wall, back straight, and leg extended at about a 45 degree angle from the floor with the foot flat), hamstring stretch (sitting, both legs or one leg straight out in front trying to touch your toes), tricep stretch (arm goes above the head, hand pointed down trying to reach the small of my back, while pulling on the elbow to help stretch the tricep)...Can anyone help me out on some more basic stretches?
I know that after reading on here some people say that stretching doesn't help much to keep yourself from being as easily injured, but I want to have a little bit more flexibility, if possible, and I'm having a hard time trying to remember the stretches...8 years of being out of the workout loop tends to do that to me!
