The bicycling PR thread

Post up your cycling PRs. Time for distance, speed PR's, distance PR's. Good idea Mr VW, be sure you are posting in this.

I'll start, but my PR is a year old and I've hardly ridden in a year. But will be getting new ones this summer. My 11 year old had told her mom she'd do a triathlon this fall (a kids only Olympic Sprint distance tri). She's now training hard to honor her mother's memory and riding her mom's bike to train with. I'm training alongside her since she did the same with me for mine last year. In fact, we are going cycling tonight but are only planning a 5 mile ride.

My old PR that I need to beat this summer - May 2006 - 25 miles.

Damn! I sold both my bikes in anticipation of a move.

I wonder if my son's bike will fit me?

longest ride-27.5 miles
highest speed-55.32 miles an hour
pr on a ten mile ride-39 mins
i really don't care too much for road biking anymore, its dull and boring due to mountain biking, tho it does make mountain biking a lot more fun

I rode just shy of 90 miles in 7 hours and 19 min back in May of 02. Total elapsed time was 8 hours 42 min.

I did it on a unicycle. Hope it counts!

Great accomplishments everyone, but step up to the plate and beat it this summer!

Working on it. Same with running...working on it. New PRs coming, but a bit farther down the road.

Do times/distances on a exercise bike count?

Sure, why not. Just describe the workout in such detail so that we can get a sense of what you actually did.

I've started riding to work three times/week. My best average speed so far has been 18.8 mph. My commute is right about 10 miles.

25.64 miles yesterday, half of it against a 16mph headwind. My farthest distance so far. I did well, but I think I needed some Gatorade or other carbs partway through.

Looking good LiftGirl. It's going to be a great summer so I'm sure you'll get longer distances in as time goes on.

Thanks Mr P! It's hard to go much farther than that on weeknights because it starts getting dark. My friend and I have lights, but they really don't help in the country. Maybe some Saturday or Sunday.
