The common cold + sleep depravation = No Cardio


This is probably a no brainer, but it apparantly never occurred to me. Yesterday I competed in NAGA in Chicago. Let me start by saying I am probably in the best shape conditioning wise that I have ever been in. I repeadedly trained for five minute rounds, with balls-to-the-wall training. Wednesday I woke up with a sore throat which by Saturday had progressed into a full fledged sinus infection. Then I couldnt sleep Friday night, and probably got about three hours total.
To make a long story short, I was winning my first match until I totally gassed out and could do nothing but lay on my back and concentrate on not throwing up. Very dissapointing day.

could just be new allergens in the air, considering temperatures are JUST NOW hitting the highest temperatures of the year at only 70-80 degrees! this mite be a mild summer, which isnt bad, but I think its bad for allergy goers... not sure though. I speak of the greatlakes region too when I say this...

Eh, I got hit by that too, recently. My cardio has been pretty difficult lately. Routes that are normally easy for me have been destroying me. At this point I'm about ready to chalk it up to allergies. I had a lot of issues around this time last year, but they were more focused around my eyes swelling up every time I went outside. Now my lungs are filling up with mucus...
