The Transformation

So, here it goes. I'm going to tell you everything about myself that might help.

I just recently graduated high school in june and will be attending Saint Louis University for pre-med this fall.

I have done weight lifting on and off for quite some time (since I started hs). The last time I quit, is because I had just started my 6 month cycle of Accutane, an acne drug that, to an extent, dehydrates you, and at the time I was taking creatine with my work-out. These two products together, coupled with the medicine saying "no physical activity", "forced" me to stop.

Here it comes. I want to go to college a changed person and start anew with new found confidence. I am still on accutane (the end of my 3rd month), but I think I have figured something out. The only reason it says "no physical activity" is because of the dehydration thing, and that only applies to the common person that doesn't drink much water. As long as I stay away from creatine and just try to focus on my diet and drinking loads of water, I shouldn't have any problems.

I now have a job that is 10 hours a day and is non-stop physical activity, however, I know it isn't enough to stop me from working out everyday.

I don't want this to just be a body transformation though, I want to change my clothes/hair style (I can handle that, with the money I'm making and my canny sense of style ) .

So, I'm thinking I should set a date (maybe in the second week of august, before I head off to college) for the transformation. Obviously I won't be THAT transformed physically (as far as muscle mass), but this will be the date I go out and transform my exterior. Hell, I might even get my teeth whitened.

I think this will be a good thing for me, and will help me with my confidence (not that it's lacking in any way, I just want more.... you know ).

So, the questions I have for you:

1. Which work-out should I go on? I was on Max-OT before, and didn't like it that much, so I'd like a different suggestion.

2. I'm thinking about getting the HUGE bag of optimum nutrition, but I was wondering. It IS allright to keep this stuff in the fridge right? I can't stand a warm shake.

For one, congrats on your goal! I am kinda in the same boat my friend and I just wanted to make some comments to help you along your path to a changed image.

Although I can't answer specifically your first question I can offer advice on the big picture. For one, you must set a goal and a time frame. You must take it serious and let nothing stand in the way of that goal. No excuses!

When you write down your goals and tell others about what you are doing it helps. I already told my family and co-workers about my goals in weight loss and fitness and I suggest you do the same. You see, when you tell others you are always reminded because people here and there will say, "So, how's the workout plan going?", or something like that. It helps you stay on your path. I have read before that you should tell select people about your goals who you know will keep reminding you of them. Keep in mind, people will be watching you and deep down that is what motivates us and we can use that to our advantage.

I did want to make one comment about that creatine. Why? Can't you work out without it? If something is going to interfere what much with the medication you need most then why even take it? There are other ways to gain size. I think creatine is over-rated anyway. That's just my opinion. Maybe I am bias because it never really worked on me, all it did was make me bloat and look fat.

Take your protein, stick to a good plan, be confident and tell plenty of people about your goals and you'll be fine. Personally, I'd drop the creatine. Again, this is just my opinion. Just drink plenty of water while taking your medication!

Good luck man, keep us posted on your progress!

amen man, thats the right freakin attitude, youll be surprised how much the girls will be all over you in college with a new cleared up face : As far as a routinee since your not interested in Max-OT i cant give you a specific workout, but tom drahos is doing westside which is a real good strength building program, check his online journal out or PM him about it. As far as clothing and hairstyle, its all about you no help from me !
