(I think I'm going to practice my hanging leg raises a little bit more intensely , but that's another story.)

Cool article, thanks for sharing. As I've often said before - our soldiers aren't trained on weights - they do tons of bodyweight stuff and stay very fit. The more elite the soldier - the more grueling the bodyweight work is. I tend to agree that bodyweight training is great even though I prefer weights so choose not to do it most of the time.

And about the leg raises - they don't have to be hanging, even doing them lying on one's back can help strengthen the pelvic floor. Any woman who's given birth, or any person male or female over 25 or 30 SHOULD be doing these. Women's PC muscles should be strong, men's BC muscles should be strong. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd follow through on my promise to myself to start doing dragon flags again for just that reason.

Let's not beat around the bush, kegels are the best for pelvic floor conditioning.

I'll never forget a comment made by one guy on a mixed crowd relationship advice message board I used to visit a long time ago. He said his favourite pick up line at the gym was to ask, "So do you do kegels?"

Yes they are. For the PC for women and the BC for men - especially as a resistance exercise. However, the leg raises do work the entire area, not just the abs. They are great pelvic strengtheners too. Can't forget, the body is a BODY, not just a collection of parts...See I did learn something here.
