This can't be January!

It's almost 70 degrees (F) here in Southeast Kansas today! I actually got the recumbent trike out of the garage and took it for a five mile spin this afternoon! It felt good, except for the rather fierce wind blowing straight out of the West! The crazy weather is warm enough that I could wear shorts with just a light windbreaker covering my arms while riding.

It felt great to get back on the trike as I either haven't had time on the weekends, or the weather hasn't cooperated for the last couple of months. I've kept in a little cardio work on the stationary bike, but I find that so boring.....

How's the weather where you are?

Cold at night. Frost on the ground this morning. Short sleeves and shorts this afternoon.

I love global warming.

Gloomy and cold. Have seen the sun for only a couple of hours since several weeks before Christmas. Bleh......

A typical sub-zero freezing Ottawa January day today. The Rideau Canal opened for the 36th skating season yesterday. It's the worlds longest skating rink and one of the things I'm very proud of this city for (too bad after 40 yrs of trying I still can't skate worth beans!).

Yep, that pretty much proves it.

Out where I go to try running...it's too warm. January and February are my favorite times because I have the place all to myself. With the weather permitting shorts and tank tops, everyone is there.

At least there was frost on the ground again this morning. Almost like winter time.

Winter came last night in Manitoba it is -20 and snowed about 8" inches last night. 15 degrees colder and it will really feel like winter, we only have about 2 feet of snow on the ground compared to the usual 4 or 5. I love winter, time to hibernate.
