this is my plan for cardio?

hey i want to start doing cardio 3-5times a week. i plan on doing different types of cardio to keep it interessting..one day i am planning on jogging and maybe sprints, another i plan on doing this intense hike up the side of this mountain, another day playing some sort of sport, basketball, soccer rugby ect. then a day swimming and possibly another day of running and sprints! does this sound good?

i overal goal is to get into better shape and loose weight but i also want to increase my endurence and speed? by doing the variety or cardio will i be able to increase my endurence and speed? should i just be sticking to sprinting and jogging or will this variety work well? anyother comments would be nice too!!

thanks!

mixing it up is *always* an excellent idea! :

make sure you're doing weights, too, so you don't burn off your muscle tissue. a good idea would be cardio 4 days a week, weights 2 days a week, and then one day a week for rest and recovery.

I like that way of training too. Have you heard of Crossfit? They have a very interesting way of training that combines just about everything: oly lifting, power-lifting, gymnastics, plyometrics, sprinting, rowing, bodyweight exercises and more. A lot of the guys doing it find that they put on a good amount of muscle without bodybuilding and they also get very fit and healthy along the way

They're using free weights just about every workout. Whether or not you can call what they're doing bodybuilding is a matter of semantics. They don't use any isolation exercises and lie awake all night worrying about the size of their biceps so I would say they are most definately not bodybuilders

you have some strange preconceived notions about what a bodybuilder is and does.

a bodybuilder, by definition, is one who reshapes their body by changing the composition.
