Toning for Teens
While it might be an OK starter text, I think that you'll probably get equal or more information by participating on this forum. There are lots of very dynamic recommendations and solutions for you here. Tell us a little bit about yourself and your goals.

Well, it probably will work.....except as with everything your gonan need to combine it with a good diet. Diet really is the key to everything Holly, as the main man said....stick around there are many articles that are explained probably in more detail than that book...If I were you, based on your goals that I think you have in mind...get a cardio routine sorted, say 15mins run (fast run or even on - off sprints with active recovery) three times a week with a day inbetween each run. Do this for a month and see how you go....need diet help ? Just ask.....

That's 80% right. Diet combined with resistance trainging will get you what you want. Doing weenie weights is crap (I'm not sure what the book recommends, but I suspect that they are not going to recommend heavy weights). If you want to seriously get a flat stomach and space between your legs, then stick around and find out how. You CAN do it. Just listen ... then DO.

I want to get in shape before school starts. if i do low impact arobics, HTS abs, 40 lunges, 20 squats, and only eat vegtables, fruit and drink water and green tea, do you think i'll get in shape in like 30 days. Or how long do you think it will take, thanks any comments/answeres will be apprciated.

Please dont only eat those things which you just suggested You could do it with those exercises if you absoloutly had to but the diet would need to be a bit more balanced Holly, nevertheless you can do it dont worry.

All your going to eat is vegtables and fruit ? You need more carbs and protein, it doesn't have to be in a specific split but if you could do a balanced diet it would do a great deal more for ya my friend.

While it is true that fruits and vegetables are carbohydrates, I think that what Lee is suggesting is that you make sure that you include some complex carbs in your meal plan. As he suggests, you'll also need to be sure and eat enough quality protein and positive fats. You'll get the best fitness results when you pay attention to a balance of food types for your body. Your body needs them all.

So nothing bad will happen if i go on this diet, i mean i'll only be on it for 30 days. It's not like im starving myself or anything. vegatariens seem to be in pretty good health, so whats the difference?

You'd lose weight yes, a hell of a lot of weight...granted much of it will be muscle and water though. Carbs = Carbohydrates, such as pasta, rice....The idea is to lose fat to bring out your frame more, if you lose muscle you will just shrienk your frame and leave the fat remaining.....and you really do not want that. Also people that only eat them types of foods - and yes this is a fact, find themselves having serious difiiciency problems and have to supplement with things they might have got out of meat, why suffer eating just that when you can look so much better eating a lot more....

If you want to get results, then you have to feed your body what it needs. For muscle maintenance and growth, you HAVE to consume protein. Focusing exclusively on fruits and vegetables will NOT provide you with positive results. Vegetarians can ONLY survive by making sure that they intelligently consume protein by combining complementary foods (typically involving whole grains consumption).
