Tough Guy - How to train?

Hey people, I'm taking part in the 'Tough Guy' event at the end of July (information can be found here: http://www.toughguy.co.uk), which is basically an assault course with 10 mile run, swimming, climbing, crawling etc.

I'd like to know how best to train for this event? Clearly I need to improve my overall fitness, and improve arm strengh etc but at the same time gaining a lot of weight won't be as helpfull. I'd greatly appreciate if those who have previously taken part in the event, let me know how they trained or for others to check the site and offer there advice.

Cheers

I have never done this, but if I were you I would check out Ross Enamait's site:

To keep things short, I'd do a lot of plyometrics (?) and bodyweight exercises to help strengthen and quicken your secondary muscle fibers and fast/slow twitch fibers. Strength is important when in the ring, but not as important as technique, quickness, and stamina.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check out the link.
I'm currently doing this kind of workout:

Monday: Back, Biceps and Neck weights
Tuesday: Run 2 miles, Cycle 4 miles, Push ups, Sit ups, Squats and Dips
Wednesday: Chest, Triceps and Shoulders weights
Thursday: Same as Tuesday Cardio
Friday: Legs and Abs

Each day I do a full strengh and am eating healthily.
Any more advice will be appreciated, I have around 6 weeks left to train for the event.

Crossfit comes to mind. Some Tabata workouts would probably help too.
