Just keeping you all up to date with the Tough guy event.

I can't wait until next summer to compete again so I have entered myself into the winter tought guy.
This one is held in January and from what I have learnt they break the ice on the lakes just before the start so that you don't do it when you jump in. I'm guessing this time round it's going to be really cold.
Hopefully I will still have a smile on my face at the end.

Toughguy

Hi Peter,
I am one of the evil @(_+{{ who make the course (the so-called Toughguy Special Forces). I definitely agree with the poster who said yo need to work on your endurace. i know it is a bit late now, but hopefully you already have been doing so. It is a hard race, but well worth it. My biggest tip is to take your time on the slaloms. When I did my first TG in 2000, I made up about 200 places just on the slaloms. I regretted it later. If you have the fitness, it is the ideal time to make places - if you are not 100%, take your time and thank yourself later.
If you want any more help, you can get hold of me through www.rwpt.co.uk

All the best - and enjoy the race.
Say hello to me - I will be the skinhead giving out huge logs to people as they enter the lake. I don't race in summer as I have a triathlon the week after. If you enter next year, I will be offering some sort of basic fitness programme to Toughguy veterans - watch my website or TG website for more details.

Hi,

Managed to get myself round the course in 2 hours 58 mins. placing 668th/(2000. approx.)

Thats 25 minutes faster than my last 'summer' tough guy.

My aim was to get under 3 hours. Just made it then.

Hopefully I'll get an even better time next summer. Had a chest infection 2 weeks before this event and wasn't feeling to good. Couldn't really train very well.

Heres to next summer. :
