Treadmills

I am shopping for a treadmill in the 700-800 price range. I seem to be able to find 2 HP continuous duty motors and 250 lb capacities in that range, which would be good enough for me. Any suggestions on brands/models in this area?

I have looked at a model by Horizon that had very little features, but was solidly built and nearly silent.

The pro-form 995 SEL seemed pretty well built, but I have heard rumors that the falsely advertise the specs on the motors as continuous duty ratings instead of the peak duty ratings that are actually given.

Any feedback would be helpful!

Thanks.

I don't know much about treadmills, but what kind of fiture are you looking for???

Do you want to run or walk? do you use incline? (some of them even goes down) How fast do you want to run? Do you want the one that tells you many things like that heart rate, burned cal. and all those stuff....? find the one that suits you.

All i can tell you is what I have. I paid $250 for it used.

Keys PRO-2000 Folding Treadmill S.E.S.

It's not EXACTLY like this one, but it's the closest I found. They don't sell the exact model I have anymore (Pro 850). Anyway, I really like it. Of course, it's not the quietest or the most expensive. It was $900 or so new, but the girl that was selling it wanted to get rid of it. I have been running on it for 6 months now and haven't had any trouble with it. The incline wasn't working, but I opened it up and blew out all the dust and it started working. (keep in mind, this treadmill is about 6-8 years old.) It's 3.5HP, has 9 workout programs, folds up, weight capasity is 250lbs ets.

Anyway, it's a Keys. Good brand as far as I'm concerned, but this is the only one I have had. I was watching the paper for one for a while and never saw any. Then I put in an ad saying I was LOOKING for one and we got a bunch of calls.

That would be nice, but not a luxury I have unless I want to run with a 3 year old on my back . I am able to use my treadmill during his nap times and it works great for me. I'm also less embarassed because I swear I look like a big dork when I run and yet, I am self concious.

I found a Healthrider R60 at Costco for a fair price, I think I will be picking it up. 20x60" deck, 2 HP motor, 0-12mph, seems to be built pretty well. Poor warranty is my only concern.

I wish I could run outside year round, but in MI, it tends to be a little too cold during winter months.
