Trying to lose weight? A quick word of advice....
Everyday I see dozens of overweight people reach for sport drinks such as Gatorade or Powerade. Consuming such drinks does not aid your fatloss efforts by "giving you more energy".
These drinks are designed for athletes performing in events that are 90 minutes or greater to enhance performance on the field/court/track.....not as a weightloss supplement. An average bottle has 150-200 kcals. In many cases a person would have to jog 45-60 minutes just to burn the calories from one bottle of Gatorade.
Next time you get thristy in the gym, reach for some water! :
Or if you must have some flavor, try the new Propel Fitness Water by Gatorade....

I'm not even sure about that. The drinks mostly contain high fructose corn syrup, which I believe is not of much help in delivering energy quickly.
A decent drink would instead have dextrose/maltodextrin.

Gatorade:
Ingredients: water, sucrose syrup, glucose-fructose syrup, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, ester gum, sucrose acetate isobutyrate, red 40, blue 1
This stuff is proven again and again.
Either way people who are trying to lose bodyfat should avoid sport drinks as much as possible.

I think powerade uses high fructose corn syrup.
Only decent ingredients are salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate.
Fructose/sucrose are inferior to dextrose/pure glucose for rapid energy assimilation. The energy drips at hospitals dont contain fructose/sucrose.
Only reason they are used in drinks is becoz its cheaper.
