unsure lifting program.

Hey,
A friend of mine at University kinda assimilated me into his workout and since I'm getting back into it I wanted to have some other opinions of it.
He does a cycle.
1. shoulders
2. chest and tricepts
3. back and bicepts

We did this cycle for a little over a month at school.
We do 6 sets of 6-8 reps. First two sets are just "warm-up". The last 4 are increasing weights, so on the 6th set, I'm at my peak weight.

Since I've been home from school, I've taken the last month to really focus on my diet and how to make it work with my body. I'm trying to decrease my body fat, while maintaining(or building more of!!!) my muscles.

Stats:
Age: 19 (20 next month)
Weight: 96kg(Starting weight 100kg)
Height: 6'0''
Body Fat%: Unknown(I don't really know and don't have the knowledge to make an educated guess)

I've been doing weight lifting for a couple years now, but only recently have really put a lot of focus on it. Should I get my body fat % checked by my doctor(I'm Canadian, so I can go to my doc no problem). Do you think my workout I've been using is the best to achieve my goals?

Thanks
Wm009

Edit:
I'm going to add in workout for legs and stomach, so I can have more muscles working. Inturn burning more fat.

You should have "added" your leg workouts right from the start.

Well, better late than never!

fri - legs and shoulder
and isolate all these so do 2-3 lifts for each of those muscles, and i think you'll be okay, but i am a rookie so yea.
