V. quick question - x-trainer or treadmill!

Hi guys! 1st time i've posted on here in AGES...!

A lot's happened in the past year or so (changed job, moved into a new apartment) which means i've had to cut down on the training (and by 'cut down' i er.... totally stopped )

Anyway, i'm looking to fix the error of my ways, and get fit again (before i pluck up the courage to join a local gym.. if there IS one! lol).

So I was thinking of either getting a treadmill (which im sure i'll be comfortable with - as i did a lot of running previously... mostly interval running.. builiding up to a full 30m run).

OR a x-trainer...

Because im in a 1st floor apartment, im a bit limited by space (and im not sure if they'll appreciate me stomping on a treadmill at 6am every morning!) So i was wondering if a x-trainer would be as benefitial (in terms of fat burning!) as a treadmill?

Ideally i want to get a treadmill, but i thought id get some second opinions first

[Thinking of getting the Reebok I-Run treadmill]

Many thanks, good to be back

How about saving the money and doing fast-paced bodyweight squats or burpees for starters. Save the money, invest it, become independent wealthy and retire early.

Welcome back!

yea dude, you could also just try running outside... I know most people hate it like the devil... including me, I just dont wanna make myself run,id rather be on an elyptical or treadmil, but when I do go run (which is not often) I love it... I love being outdoors and seeing the city be alive, or being just outside the city at one of the state parks along the lake... so beautiful

IMO, the form of cardio does not matter; it's the intensity you put into it that makes the difference, rather than the specific piece of equipment (or lack of equipment) you're using.

I second westside, why would you buy a treadmill when you can run outside for free!! No need to buy equipment for cardio!

however if I were to buy anything it would be a concept 2 rower

I suggest that if you cannot get a gym memberhsip, you burpee until you are sweating and panting, and then you slip on your trainers and hit the pavement! Free, and effective.
