Warm up excercises

I have read on this board that alot of people are in favor of stretching in between sets.

I am wondering if you can provide some examples of stretches that you do for each area that you are working on (IE What stretch/warm up do you do between bench sets, etc..)

Thank you much =)

If you'll look at the exrx.net web site, you'll see specific stretches for each type of lift. For example, after doing chest press exercises, you would do this stretch.

Explore around their site and note the stretches that are appropriate for the lifts that you perform.

I usually stretch my lats between all sets for back exercises, by grabbing a post or piece of exercise equipement that is stable with both hands and then bend over at the waist till almost 90 degrees and stretch out my arms till they are straight....I hold that for about 30 seconds for a good passive stretch in the lats.

For chest, in between sets, I simply extend and put the palm of my hand flat on a post or something upright, extend that arm and then turn away (facing away, opposite of where my hand is) feeling the stretch of my pec for 30 seconds. Your arm and hand should be even with the level of your chest. I repeat it for the other pec immediately.

For biceps, I simply walk up to a post or something upright, keep my arms down at my side and rotate my palms outward (facing away from my body) and then place or slightly push them against the post or wall, which stretches the biceps greatly. Hold for 30 secs.

I hope this helps somewhat!
