what am I doing wrong?
Okay I got to the gym 3-4 times a week. I have lost a fair amount of fat but have maintained my weight with the help of taking whey 30 minutes before a workout.
My question is I can't seem to lose this stubborn fat in my love handles and lower back.
My routine is 20 minutes on, bike, tread machine or ski machine. I rotate.
Then 30-45 minutes on heavy weights working my arms and shoulders on day, legs the next, then back and abs. Everything is working out well except these damn handles and advice?
Plus I need a good lower back excersice if anyone has one.
Cheers

Do you do back extensions for your lower back? Do you take weights and bend from side to side to hit ur love handles? Otherwise I guess just get that diet even cleaner.

Is that 20 minutes in total?
If so i think you need to increase the amount of time you spend at cardio...
I aim for 40-45mins a day.
Oh and i agree with AdamJM, You may need to take a good look at your diet.

Hey irish, I have the same problem. In fact I just got weighed and was 12 stone. Ive never been 12 stone in my life. Ive put on a stone in muscle but still have love handles. I do cardio and also eat healthy and although Ive lost a bit of fat I still cant get rid of the handles.
Ive been told that you store more fat in some places than others (in me its round my stomach) and therefore it will be the last place it goes from and the first place it returns.

PaulCaine5 what do you mean by 12 stone? What is a stone in this sense? I've never heard that before.

Well I don't want to increase my cardio up too much, I am trying to maintain my weight as much as I can, If I did straight cardio for 40-45 I would be 140 pounds lol. With flabby skin due to lack of strength training. I want to bulk up and loose fat.

PaulCaine5, where is a stone commonly used as a measurement of weight? I haven't heard that one before either.

In the UK nearly all weight measurements (for people) are measured in 'Stone'.
14lbs = 1 Stone
I weigh 13 Stone 2lbs, which is 184lbs.
When folk on here give their measurements in pounds I have to work out what that is in Stone to be able to picture that weight.

Ah, when will the all of us count in KILOGRAMS ? I'm French so I'm 56,5 kg. I know my weight in pounds (123 ) because my club in the US had a scale in pounds when I was living there. Now I live in the UK and I still don't know how many stones, around 9, but I still don't know how to convert more precisely ! If I divide 123 by 14 the result is 8.78, but I suppose we don't say 8 stones 78. So what do you do with the 78 remainder ? Well never mind, I was so bad in maths at school ! But it's a problem whenever I have to enter my weight in a calculator online for example !
Irish, I would suggest longer cardio sessions too ! It took time to me before I could see fat going away, time spent on cardio machines ! (45 minutes 5 days a week ! "Bon courage" ! )
