What excer. can be done for the lower back"?
If any one out there could enlighten me a bit, a need to know of an excercise that targets the lower back (especially the love handles area) with only two dumbells.... so, whatcha got to tell me man?

Jaster's got it about right. I just want to point out that love handles are actually your obliques, not your lower back.
Do some oblique hyper-extensions. Use the back hyper-extension thingy...lean against it with your outer thigh against the pad, and bend sideways back and forth. For added resistance, hold a weight in your lower hand (i.e. if your left thigh is against the pad, hold the weight with your left hand and let it hang while you lift with your obliques)
This will make your oblique muscles grow and get stronger, but probably won't get rid of the love handles. The only way to do that is to stop drinking all those beers...lol
Seriously though love handles is all about diet.

What I do is grab a 35-50 lb dumbbell and hold it to my side, lean to the side and back up. Hits that area pretty nicely...no idea what that is called though or how to describe it better.

Chopping trees is a fantastic exercise for developing and strengthening your obliques.
You could actually chop trees (with an axe) or do it in the Gym on one of the cable machines.
Cheers,
Hav
