What is a good fullbody workout item?
I'm starting to dislike the social environment of the gym and want to have some sort of single workout peice of equipment that allows you to workout every (or atleast most) part of the body. (I've seen the Bowflex but that seems a bit expensive).
What are some cheap full body workout equipment?
(Sorry for saying equipment so many times; I know it's not the right word... but I can't think of what the right word is!)

I'm not the best person to post references but you already own the best piece of equipment, your body!
Pierini and the guys who do cross fit and strongman stuff are very creative about working the whole body.
I'm sure they will respond.

Umm... A Barbell and some weights. Really.
You want to work legs? Squat, Deadlifts, Romanian Deads, Zercher Lifts, Oly Lifts, Good mornings, etc.
Chest but you have no bench? Overhead press and Push ups
Back? Rows and Pull ups
Traps? Shrugs, Upright Rows
Triceps? Standing French Press, dips on a chair, Dips on anything, Diamond Push ups
Biceps?Pull ups, Barbell curls
Forearms? Static Holds, Deadlifts, Reverse Curls, Wrist curls
Behind aka Booty aka Rump aka Butt? Lunges, Good Mornings, Deadlifts, Squats, Romanian Deadlifts, Stiff Leg Deadlifts, Natural GHR
Calves- Standing Calf Raise
Abs- Every Squat/Deadlift variation I mentioned, Sit ups, Hanging Leg raises, Crunches,
Obliques-Side bends with a 45lbs in one hand.
Shoulders-Overhead press, Military press, Lat Raises with weight plates
I'm sure I missed something. Amazing huh? I bet you're saying to yourself:
"Gee, an amazing do hickey like that must be expensive. How much would I have to pay, WolBarret...1,000?"
No my friend. For the low low price of $120 Dollars, 10 of that which goes to me, you can get this amazing piece of equipment.
Also, you can lift weights outside. That's always fun.
I need pre-read my posts.

I use a bar and weights with a walmart bench at home to train. For cardio, I run, walk, beat on a heavy bag, sometimes ride a bike.
Others here do some very interesting bodyweight training, some guys use sandbags (homemade). Some make sleds to drag. Still others use very creative things like tires, old AC units, old washing machines...
The possiblities are nearly endless.

Buy a high quality pullup/dip unit that has pushup handles at the bottom for doing pushups and arm rest pads for doing vertical knee lifts. It's a very versatile piece of equipment, allowing you to perform pullups, dips, pushups and vertical knee lifts. I paid $148US for mine and the quality is as good as one's I've seen in the $300US range.
You are only missing something to work your legs. Make a weighted sandbag, shoulder it and do some squat work. Or do a burpee workout, concentrating on explosive jumping. You can hit your abs a dozen ways without any equipment. I believe you have everything you need unless you want to be a powerlifter or Oly lifter.
Oh, and don't forget to run, like you are being chased by the PO-LEESE.
You'll be ready to hit the beaches by summertime if you are willing to do the hard work.
Good luck!

i'd suggest a barbell, weights and a bench. WolBarret post was right on with all the exercises you can do with just that.
oh and i'd throw in a pull-up bar too!

And if you can't do that, find a tree!

I would have to agree with WolBarret on many levels. Though if it's not practical for you to have a barbell in your home, 1 or 2 kettlebells can replace the need for many, many pieces of equipment, and they take up virtually no room at all.

Ya know, Dan, I like you and have tremendous respect for what you do with weights --- but I'll take the hot chick's video over yours any day!

Dan - do you know much about Kettlestack? It looks like a good idea until I read about the plastic handles. I'm just a bit unsure of that kind of construction in something that is supposed to hold 70 to 90 pounds......

Yeah, Dan your workout vids are always interesting but we'll happily watch hers from now on. The kettlebell workout with the music muted and Donna Summer singing "Ring My Bell" on my player was perfect.
Almost inspired me to consider giving kettlebells a try someday.
Almost.

I would keep in mind the intent with kettlebells is to build functional strength, not maximum power output. So, at least in my opinion, having a bit of movement in one's core will actually help to strengthen it. Of course, I could be full of crapola too......
